CiscoView shows FAIL

Hy.

We're using CiscoView 6.1.2.

Every Cisco Catalyst 2950 that is viewed in CV is showed with red ports. That means every port that is in 'not connected' state is shown as FAIL.

Why?

How can I correct this mistake?

Thank you!

cheers

Marc

Well, CiscoView should be reflecting the instrumentation on the device.

If you show modules/interfaces on the switch, what does that show?

If you do an SNMPwalk on the interfaces table, what does that show?

If I do a 'show interfaces' I can see the interfaces are down/down.

Taking a look at the snmpwalk output I see the OperStatus shown as 'down'.

CV still shows 'FAIL'.

Hello? Please help me!

Maybe the entire module failed. What does "show mod" say?

There's no 'sh mod' possible on a Catalyst 2950.

Please Help! Any suggestions, ideas?

cheers

Marc

Hello.

Now I found that we have the same Problem with the c3560 devices. All ports that aren't up are shown as failed ports in CiscoView.

PLEASE HELP!!!

Thank you!

Marc

What version of the package are you running for this device?

Cat2950 6.0

Cat3550 8.0

Cat3560 2.0

Turn on the PC!

ALL my switches display red where there isn't an active connection.

The only switches that display baby blue (dormant) are the 1900 series switches, 2912, 2924, console port on 4507.

6509 with IOS switchports display orange (down)

I don't think you have anything to worry about.
