CiscoWOrks 2000 disabling Syslog.

Hello everyone. I am running a Windows 2K server with CiscoWorks 2000 loaded on it.

I would like to find out if it is possible to disable the Syslog feature, as I want to use a different server app to capture Syslog messages.

The version of Syslog is : Syslog

Analyzer 3.4.

The version of RME is 3.4.

Any help would be greately appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

Dmitry.

Just don't send messages to the CiscoWorks server, and you don't have anything to worry about. The Cisco syslog service must still run on the CiscoWorks server to collect messages from the Daemon Manager, however.

Thank you for the information. I was thinking that was the case that the syslog is a necessary part of CiscoWorks, just was not 100% sure.

Guess I'll use another server as a Syslog server.

Thank you Joe
