ciscoworks 4.2 - dfm email issue

Hi Cisco Team,

Dfm email alerts are not coming though it was configured properly.

Did a wireshark pcap and below is the info taken from wireshark.

Command: MAIL FROM:<itreports.alerts@mycompany.com>\r\n

Command: RCPT TO:<network.support@mycompany.com>\r\n

Response: 550 5.7.1 Unable to relay for network.support@mycompany.com\r\n

Response code: Requested action not taken: mailbox unavailable (550)

Response parameter: 5.7.1 Unable to relay for network.support@mycompany.com

Im able to telnet to smtp server on port 25.

ciscoworks ip and smtp server ip are in the same pvt ip range.

Can you pls help.

Hi Rajesh,

If you are  running LMS on windows then try to disable the Windows Firewall and see if you get emails.

Also share the SMTP.log (NMSROOT\CSCOpx\log)

But still i am not getting mails from ciscoworks..

so far we hv configured only dfm to send email alerts.

but other servers are configured and getting email alerts from other servers(other vendors) to this smtp server.

you need any other info please update..

Could you check the smtp configuration and share the page by page screenshot from the following location:-

Admin > Network > Notification and Action Settings.

Make sure you have the same smtp server entry in the following two locations:-

Admin > Getting Started > System Settings

                            &

Admin > System > SMTP default Server

Share the screen shot from the above location as well.

Please check if SMTP server is properly configured on regdaemon.xml. You can share that file as well. Also, just check there is no duplicate entry for DFM Notifications.

In addition to what Joe has suggested, please check the smtp.log when you generate an alert.

the log is located at NMSROOT\log.

It seems the smtp stopped logging events sicen Jan 9. Did the emails stopped coming from Jan 9 2014? Please share the regdaemon.xml file from NMSROOT\MDC\etc.

Also redo the smtp server in the notification and action settings.

Hi Syed, this was the old smtp log.

i will share regdaemon.xml and reconfigure smtp.

anyother details you required ??

      

Infact, RME syslog email automation is also not sending any mail...
