CiscoWorks : Importing Devices from a CSV File failed.

Hi there,

I have used both GUI & command line for importing devices from a CSV file but failed. What can be the cause for it?

From the GUI, I received this error message : PGM_NM=XIP.pm:44:TYPE=CRITICAL::[e:/CSCOpx/deviceexport/12012009testing.csv] syntax error at line 3: <table definition> expected.

From the command line, I received this error message : PGM_NM=e:/CSCOpx/cgi-bin/import/pimport/XIP.pm:12:TYPE=CRITICAL::[] cannot open 12012009testing: %m.

Re: CiscoWorks : Importing Devices from a CSV File failed.

If there's a problem with the file itself, you might want to test the sample file to see if that works to make sure the function works properly: The sample file is called device_CSV_sample.txt and it's found in \CSCOpx\example\import on a windows platform (default install path: C:\Program files\CSCOpx) on Unix, it's /opt/CSCOpx/example/import and it's the same file name. try copying a few lines from your file onto that sample file and try importng that file. This way we can confirm that it's a formatting issue with your file and not the function itself. Else try to reimport the file.
