CiscoWorks LMS 2.5.1 Disk Space Allocation

I currently have LMS 2.2 installed on Solaris 2.8 on a Sun280R. I am struggling with the 80G disk space requirements since my current LMS 2.2 install only requires the following. (I do not have DFM installed, only Common Services, Campus and RME). This particular server manages 300 devices.

LMS 2.2 current disk allocations

/opt/CSCOpx = 5G (2.5G free)

/var/adm/CSCOpx = 1G (.2G free)

/var/CSCOpx/backup = 2G (.5G free)

The LMS 2.5 upgrade guide suggests that 80G is required. Disk space on our SAN is tight right now, so I need to allocate additional space carefully.

I would appreciate any suggestions or hard data others may be able to provide for LMS 2.5.1 with similar environment (No DFM or IPM and 300 devices). I am specifically looking for the most optimal disk allocations for

/opt/CSCOpx

/var/adm/CSCOpx

Thanks!

An optimal disk space allocation cannot be determined given just a device count. It all depends on the number of syslog messages you will receive, number of configs archived, number of software images, etc.

Simply based on what you've given, rough estimates would be:

/opt/CSCOpx : 7 GB

/var/adm/CSCOpx : 4 GB

BACKUP : 10 GB

The reason for the backup being so large is to account for scratch space and multiple revisions.
