CiscoWorks Problem

Dear all,

i have a problem on ciscoworks lms2.6, suddenly i have a linke between two cisco switches one of them is 2950G and the other is 3560, the link has an attribute of D8 interface?? what does this mean??? there is no physical linke between these devices.

Sometimes ciscoworks "sees" a link because of a match in it CDP table.

It's possible that one device see a cdp neighbor on it interface with s sysname that matches the name of the other device.

This is why you should have unique sysname/hostname on all devices.

If you don't understand send a show cdp neighbor of both machines and I will try to explain.

thanks alot for your help, here is a snapshot of the D8-interface problem
