Having trouble with our implementation of SNMS. It resides on a standalone server running Win 2003 Enterprise. Our problem seems to be mostly with WUG 8.02 and it's web interface. Whenever it is accessed, it crashes the WUG console version and starts dropping connectivity to devices, sending us false alarms. Only way to fix is to reboot the server. Not sure what is causing the server to crash. We done a fresh install and still no luck. Does anyone know if we can/should upgrade WUG to the latest version 8.04?? Any help adive would be appreciated. Thanks.
Yes, You can install the updates from IPSwitch, but first make a backup of these two files:
they are responsible for the Web page of WUG inside SNMS, i.e. they have code that shows the
three Cisco menu items in the right pane of the web map view of WUG (Cisco View | Device Center | Export To Essentials)
They will get lost if you install the patches an let the original files be replaced by the new ones delivered with the patch. If you have no other customization you could use the new ones and edit these two files after patch installation. At the end of the files (text files) Cisco added some lines for the Cisco specific menues of WUP.
