I am using the config man mib to get trap notifications when a change is made to the config of our Cisco switches. The trap OID is .188.8.131.52.184.108.40.206.220.127.116.11. I am receiving the traps fine, but I want to know if there is a way to include the username that made the config change in the trap. If not, is there a mib that will include the username?
i dont think you could actually include this OID into your current trap, as far as i know SNMP dont work in a hierarchical format. instead you should create a new specific snmp trap for this, or else, check out Embeded Event Manager (EEM) feature.
This is actually a pretty cool feature, i didn't even know it existed until I was looking for a solution to advertise a subnet (prefix in BGP talk), only if a certain condition existed. This is exactly what conditional advertisements does
