The customer is wanting an audit of the configurations on the network devices to see which devices follow a standard they supply and which devices don't. If this were a small network, I think it could be done fairly easily but we're talking close to 12,000 Cisco devices of many different models and versions of software.
I don't think this is something that CiscoWorks can do so I'm looking for feedback on how this could be done and what software could be used to do this...

RME 4.0 actually does provide this functionality (baseline templates).

Really....
That's fantastic news. We can't snap our fingers and produce a solution because it's going to be very, very difficult to do but we can now go back to the customer with this news and provide them with a means to get there.
John and I ordered and have received the software but haven't really had the time or the need to install it and start trying to learn it and make it work.
