How do I configure LMS 3.2, on Windows 2k8, w/ RME 4.3.1 to display the FQDN instead of the IP within the syslog.log file? Thank you.

Check the "Enable crmlogger DNS resolution" box under Common Services > Server > Admin > System Preferences.

The syslog server depends on the name resolution as configured on your server, try to add some test devices to the DNS server or to \windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts file and verify that the received logs contain the FQDN.

Hi Aieremias, thanks for the reponse. Our server team, however, states that syslog is application-specific on Windows – it’s not provided with the OS.

Check the "Enable crmlogger DNS resolution" box under Common Services > Server > Admin > System Preferences.

Thanks Joe. That did the trick.
