console keeps disconnecting

Hello there,

So here is my situation. I have 20 2960 CG to configure and since I changed my computer to the Dell 7440 it is a nightmare.

This laptop does not have a serial so I am using a star-tech adapter with the Windows Driver

Everything runs fine for about a minute or 2 (when lucky ) and then I loose the connection.

That said, the only way to get the connection back is too reboot the computer.

I contacted Dell and one tech came over to check the computer and everything is fine.

We reformatted the machine, reinstalled Windows 7x64, updated everything and still the same.

I also tried through putty and other hyperterminals and still the same.

I am kind of lost.

(I also do not wish to wish to purely usb to micro usb as next week I ll have another batch of switch that do not have the usb console).


Any help will be greatly appreciated !!

One of this thread has same issue. Just try the recommendations there and see anything turns out to be helpful.

But my issue appears also with Hyperterminal so for sure it is not related to Putty.

I will keep you posted after testing.
