CW2K Log file size

Hi,

I'm running RME4, Common Services 3.0.5 and other apps running on a high spec server with tons of space.

The current settings for most of the log file sizes is 30000 bytes and log file status shows some logs exceeding this limit.

Is it possible to change the default log file size?

Here's a copy/paste of the current log file status:

1. syslog.log e:\cscopx\log 52087341 300000 Less than 1%.

2. pidm.log e:\cscopx\log 7378039 30000 Less than 1%.

3. psu.log.* e:\cscopx\log 4861297 30000 Less than 1%.

4. stdout.log.* e:\cscopx\MDC\tomcat\logs 4816013 5242880 Less than 1%.

5. jrm.log e:\cscopx\log 1090720 30000 Less than 1%.

6. dmgtDbg.log e:\cscopx\log 304921 30000 Less than 1%.

7. dbbackup.log e:\cscopx\log 260358 30000 Less than 1%.

8. license.log e:\cscopx\log 109492 30000 Less than 1%.

9. dbpwdChange.log e:\cscopx\log 74596 30000 Less than 1%.

10. TomcatMonitor.log e:\cscopx\log 67469 30000 Less than 1%.

11. diskWatcher.log e:\cscopx\log 53555 30000 Less than 1%.

12. ESSMonitor.log e:\cscopx\log 44333 30000 Less than 1%.

13. dcrimpexp.log e:\cscopx\log 20179

There are many other log files shown in log file status.

Is there a convenient way to manage these file sizes, change the default files sizes, or even move to a different location on the same disk or a different partition?

Kind regards

Re: CW2K Log file size

There is a utility under NMSROOT/bin called logrot.pl that can be used to manage log file sizes. It is documented in the online help. You can run NMSROOT/bin/perl NMSROOT/bin/logrot.pl -c to configure logrot's rotation settings.

Re: CW2K Log file size

Great, I've used the windows scheduler to run logrot and save the output to a file.

Thanks v much
