CWCS 3.0 and DFM 2.0

I would like to install Dfm 2.0 on a windows 2k server with CWCS 3.0. I have tried twice and cannot get dfm to run properly. DFM discovery has my devices in a continuous "learning" state. Has anyone seen this before? Is it even possible to run dfm on the server without the rest of the lms bundle? TIA

You may install DFM 2.0 without the rest of the lms bundle. There is an unresolved defect that you are probably running into.

CSCsb38137: DFM 2.0 discovery may hang (in Learning state) indefinitely

Re: CWCS 3.0 and DFM 2.0

I was told this would be fixed in the next service pack. This was 2 service packs ago. Any progress? If not, what kind of compensation is Cisco providing and how do we get compensated? Please advise...

Thanks,

Re: CWCS 3.0 and DFM 2.0

Which DFM service pack are you on now? Also, have you done a rediscovery since adding the latest service pack?

Have you tried the following workaround if you're on Windows:

Stop CiscoWorks

delete DFM.rps file

delete Broker.rps file

Please make sure the setup in environment variable SM_BROKER in the server

System Properties, under System Variables. My Computer > Properties >

Advanced tab > Environment variables.

Look for SM_BROKER

The variable value for SM_BROKER is should end with :9002. If it does not, please:

Stop CiscoWorks

delete DFM.rps file

delete Broker.rps file

change the environmental variable to end in :9002

Apply changes and reboot the server.
