CWLMS 3.1 installation

Dear,

I need to install the cwlms 3.1 to one of my customer. The network consists of 19 3560 switches and a 6509 switch.There are 2 5520 firewalls that are being used.

This is my first installation. I have no prior experience to do the advanced configuration and adding devices to LMS.

I need to know the minimal config hints to complete the configuration.

Minimally, each device needs to be configured with a read-only SNMP community string. Once you get LMS installed, go to Common Services > Device and Credentials > Device Management, and add each device. You will also want to include the credentials to connect via telnet or SSH. Once the devices are added to DCR, the applications should begin managing them.

That said, minimal is not optimal. You really should review the LMS deployment white paper at http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/cscowork/ps2425/prod_white_papers_list.html . You can use the 3.0 paper as a basic guide. You should also read the LMS 3.1 Getting Started Guide at http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/net_mgmt/ciscoworks_lan_management_solution/3.1/install/guide/getstart.html . It has some hints and tips to make sure the installation goes smoothly.

The master DCR Add device interface can be found at Common Services > Device and Credentials > Device Management.
