DCR Service is not coming up.

Hi there,

The DCR service is not working on CISCOWORKS and I am unable to go do Device and Credentials.

I checked that service in Processes and it is sitting on "waiting to initialize". I tried to stop and start but that did not work.

Any ideas please?

Regards,

Shoaib.

Can you get to CS --> Server --> Security --> Single-Server Management --> Certificate Setup? If so then go here and make sure a resolvable DNS hostname is entered and choose "Apply".

Then you may want to clear out log files by doing these steps:

1. Stop CiscoWorks daemon:

Windows: net stop crmdmgtd

Solaris: /etc/init.d/dmgtd stop

2. Backup and remove all the log files in the following directories, if they exist:

Windows:

$NMSROOT\log

$NMSROOT\lib\jrun\jsm-cw2000\logs

$NMSROOT\MDC\tomcat\logs\

where $NMSROOT = CiscoWorks installation directory:

(default = C:\Program Files\CSCOpx\)

Solaris:

/var/adm/CSCOpx/log

/opt/CSCOpx/objects/jrun/jsm-cw2000/logs/

/opt/CSCOpx/MDC/tomcat/logs/

3. Restart CiscoWorks daemon:

Windows: net start crmdmgtd

Solaris: /etc/init.d/dmgtd start

then give it a few minutes and see if the process status has changed for DCRServer.
