recently the name resolution on the server broke and CM discover all devices by ip address instead of by host name. now the name resolution has been fixed and I am prepared to re run device discovery.however I am wondering when I rerun discovery. all my current devices disovered by ip address and the new discovery which will be by host name can reconcile each other since the ip address the same? or CM discover all my devices again as new devices ? I am worried not to lose all historical archives. any suggestion to avoid this conflict?
