DFM Alert Event BackupActivated

Hi, I have a simple question regarding RFM Alert Event BackupActivated.

Does this alert only apply to port or interface? Will it apply to router redundancy? will it apply to FWSM failover? such as if I configured vlan interface with standby ip address, when FWSM failover, the standby FWSM will take over and that vlan interface ip address will be the standby address, will this alert be raised?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This event typically applies to backup interfaces for serial lines. You would need to enable this event on the ports or interfaces you wish to be backup. This is done under DFM > Configuration > Polling and Thresholds > Managing Thresholds. Select the port or interface group, and click Edit. Then click the Customize Settings button, and add the "Backup interface support settings" capability. Then ports/interfaces matched by that group will be considered for this event.
