DFM high Queue Drop rate alarms

We are getting the following alarm often:

VENT ID = 00000ZI

ALERT ID = 00000U6

TIME = Wed 09-Apr-2008 08:48:23 PDT

STATUS = Active

SEVERITY = Critical

MANAGED OBJECT = 172.16.XXX.XXX

MANAGED OBJECT TYPE = Routers

EVENT DESCRIPTION = HighQueueDropRate::Component=IF-172.16.XXX.XXX/5 [Fa2/0] [172.16.XXX.XXX];ComponentClass=Interface;ComponentEventCode=1053;Type=ETHERNETCSMACD;OutputPacketQueueDropPct=0.0 %;MaxSpeed=100000000;OutputPacketQueueDropRate=0.0 PPS;OutputPacketNoErrorRate=131.05 PPS;QueueDropThreshold=2;InputPacketQueueDropPct=2.6405654 %;InputPacketNoErrorRate=147.02083 PPS;DuplexMode=FULLDUPLEX;InputPacketQueueDropRate=3.9875 PPS;

There is not a big spike of traffic, and there are no ACL's on this interface to shape the traffic. We are typically getting thes alerts at night or on weekends when the traffic is light.

Is our threshold set low or is there really a problem?

If you're not experiencing any network impact by this 2.64% output queue drop rate, then I would say your 2% queue drop threshold is too low. If you're regularly seeing ~ 3%, maybe you should increase your threshold to 4 or 5%.
