My question revolves around the DFM 3.1.0 and how it mmonitors and notifies.
I currently have DFM (on LMS 3.1) version 3.1.0 and have configured the monitoring and notification thresholds. DFM is currently checking all devices (Routers, Switches, and Wireless devices) every 240 seconds with a wait-time of 700 msec, with 5 retries.
I am currently experiencing an avalanche of False Positives. How does DFM/CW verifiy rechability, environmentals, etc? Docs I have read refer to ICMP for reachability and SNMP for everything else. Is that correct? Are my parameters set too low? Does DFM check these devices sequentially or in parallel? Is there a seperate time for each device or is there a single time that starts when the server starts up?
