What tool would you recommend to do an initial discovery when going into a new Cisco environment? I'm looking for something that will gather info on all the Cisco devices for me.

Solarwinds make a couple of tools for that (www.solarwinds.com)

Ciscoworks LMS (v3.0 is the latest).
The Campus Manager module will do the initial discovery, the Resource Manager Essentials module can manage your inventory.
