Hi mates :)
I have an SNMP enabled switch and a Network management server with LMS 2.5 installed.
My question: Do server's IP address and switch's IP address have to be in the same subnet in order to send/recieve SNMP traps and use other SNMP features properly?
My switch's IP address (IP address of Interface VLAN 1)is 10.10.10.1/8
Would SNMP works if I assign 192.168.1.1/24 to Server (LMS 2.5 installed)
(LMS 2.5 Server is directly connected to the switch)
For some reason I need my switch's IP address in a different subnet then and LMS 2.5 Server
Thanks for helping :)

As long as there is a router to interconnect these subnets (10.10.10.x and 192.x.x.x) that allows the SNMP traffic then this should work.
SNMP, syslog and other traffic normaly passes unless filtered.
cheers,
Michel
