Why use ACS in the first place? ACS is being superseded by the Cisco ISE.
You can get either an appliance or a VMware version.
ACS still has a lot of value. Not everyone will use ISE. Also, ISE doesnt do TACACS today.
So I believe its safe to assume they dont have eval versions for 5.2 or even 5.1 correct?
Also I would really like to Eval this solution to test out the Cisco Vendor specific attributes and compare them to Palo Alto's vendor attributes.
If any one could shed some additonal light on this matter it would be greatly appreciated
That's correct, no publicly available evaluation version of ACS 5.x is currently offered by Cisco.
If you work with a Cisco account manager or partner they may be able to obtain a copy for you to evaluate.
They change the offerings frequently. The OP was whether one could pull it from the download site. I'm not seeing it there as of today but that can also vary according to your account level (i.e partner IDs may show different offerings than customers and guests see still other information).
Cisco is generally quite accomodating re providing trial versions of their software.
You can download a 90-day trial version of Cisco Secure ACS from links available at http://www.cisco.com/go/acs
Hello, I'd like to reopen the case: I have just obtained Product Name: ACSEVAL
It it is a Cisco Secure Access Control Server Evaluation license key. I wanted to download the software, but everywhere I am asked to provide my service-contract details.
Where can I obtain a copy of this software?
As noted above, Cisco periodically changes what software is offered free to the public on a trial basis. As of right now, ACS is not offered as a free trial download.
If you have a partner or reseller you are working with, they may be able to download the software and obtain a Not-for Resale license for you
FYI if anybody is perusing this thread - Cisco ACS is now past end of sales and will not be offered for evaluation ever again.
The replacement product is Identity Services Engine (ISE).
