Multi-part question. I would like to take advantage of ERM to monitor our routers for global usaage of CPU, Memory, and Buffers. Once I set the thresholds, how can I;

1) Generate loads to test

2) Is there a reference for the SNMP traps that will be sent -> we want to build policies for these events

Thanks in advance

When I was testing ERM, I did snmpwalks of the CISCO-FLASH-MIB to generate load (I did about 50 at a time in parallel).

ERM does not have any SNMP traps. It does, however, generate syslog messages. Here are some examples:

Oct 17 00:01:35 nms-7206a.rtp.cisco.com 9263: Oct 17 00:01:35 EDT: %SYS-4-CPURESRISING: System is seeing global cpu util 63% at total level more than the configured minor limit 60 %

Oct 17 00:01:48 nms-7206a.rtp.cisco.com 9267: Oct 17 00:01:48 EDT: %SYS-6-CPURESFALLING: System is no longer seeing global high cpu at total level for the configured minor limit 10%, current value 1%
