Excessive Fragmentation alerts after upgrade to LMS 3.2

Margaret Tonso

Has anyone else experienced this issue? We upgraded to LMS 3.2 (windows server 2003) and the following morning around the time the devices are polled, about half of our CatOS 6509s got these excessive fragmentation DFM alerts. Nothing has changed on the switches. Please let me know if you have run into this and what you did to fix it. We are receiving thousands of alerts per day.

Thanks!

This is a known issue, and the workaround is to set the threshold to 0 for switches as this event (Memory Fragmentation) has no meaning for switches. This is done under DFM > Configuration > Polling and Thresholds > Managing Thresholds.

Thank you, this has put an end to the alerts!
