Gmail account for SMTP

Hi,

can I use a Gmail account or a yahoomail account for receiving the notification messages from DFM or RME in LMS

if yes, what is the SMTP server name to be configured?

You need to use an actual smtp server in your network. It won't work with gmail or yahoo mail.

This is possible. If we install a SMTP server (some freeware) for the LMS system, we can send mails to gmail or yahoo mail.

Just after you replied I found out this. I am able to get mails. This is for your information.

Yes, you can send emails to gmail or yahoo, but as I mentioned you have to have your own internal smtp server...freeware is fine. I was understanding that you wanted to enter parameters for yahoo or gmail as smtp.
