Groups in DFM - (LMS 2.6)

Hi all,

a costumer of mine want to configure the DFM for this purpose:

- creating several device groups.

- defining notification groups for the device groups.

Now the two questions:

1. Is it possible to configure the Alarm Browser (better say the event correlation) to generate only one (!) alarm if all (!!!) devices within one device group fail? If only some fail, the costumer do not necceassarily need the single alarms.

For better understanding: The costumer has many redundant links configured among several infrastructure devices. He needs only an alarm if the communication from one site to another fails!

2. Is it possible to configure the notification server to send only one e-mail for the in paragraf one mentioned configuration?

Many thanks in advance.

Frank

Re: Groups in DFM - (LMS 2.6)

Unfortunately, neither of these things are possible. While you can create a view group to control which devices you see in AAD, you cannot cause devices in these groups to aggregate their alerts. Therefore, since the alerts are independent, so to will are the notifications.

Hi Joe,

many thanks for you post.

This confirmed my assumption. I hoped there could be a way.

Have a nice day
