How to Get Devices viewed in Cisco View 6.1

ot all the devices are manageable in Cisco View 6.1. Do the devices need to be successful in Archive Management and other applications to work in Cisco View?

CiscoView doesn't care about Archive Management.

CiscoView gets its information from the Device Credential Repository.

Re: How to Get Devices viewed in Cisco View 6.1

I am confused on why the device wasn't manageable. I had done a clean install of Cisco Works following the TAC engineer's guidance. We did a back-up of our devices and restored from the back-up. So the device should have worked in Cisco View. It seems to me like something that takes a day or two, has to happen in order for the device to be able to be viewed in Cisco View?

I am confused as well. Just go to Chassis View and enter the device name or ip address in there.

You might have to enter the community strings.

The device will show up.

Here is the error message I get. This never happened before he reinstallation.

Message

Timeout on 10.X.X.X.

Cause

This error could be due to lack of access to the host, invalid SNMP credentials, or a busy device.

Action

Please verify the access to the host, the SNMP credentials or try increasing timeout value through the preference options available on chassis view.

Any idea what community string CiscoView is using to poll the device?
