How to move file from tftp to router ?

I use sample at "http://www.cisco.com/en/US/tech/tk648/tk362/technologies_tech_note09186a0080094aa6.shtml ".

Like this:

cisco.ciscoMgmt.ciscoFlashMIB.ciscoFlashMIBObjects.ciscoFlashOps.ciscoFlashCopyTable.ciscoFlashCopyEntry.ciscoFlashCopyCommand.666 : INTEGER: copyToFlashWithoutErase

cisco.ciscoMgmt.ciscoFlashMIB.ciscoFlashMIBObjects.ciscoFlashOps.ciscoFlashCopyTable.ciscoFlashCopyEntry.cisco FlashCopyProtocol.666 : INTEGER: tftp

cisco.ciscoMgmt.ciscoFlashMIB.ciscoFlashMIBObjects.ciscoFlashOps.ciscoFlashCopyTable.ciscoFlashCopyEntry.cisco FlashCopyServerAddress.666 : IpAddress: 172.17.246.205

cisco.ciscoMgmt.ciscoFlashMIB.ciscoFlashMIBObjects.ciscoFlashOps.ciscoFlashCopyTable.ciscoFlashCopyEntry.ciscoFlashCopySourceName.666 : DISPLAY STRING- (ascii): test_file.txt

cisco.ciscoMgmt.ciscoFlashMIB.ciscoFlashMIBObjects.ciscoFlashOps.ciscoFlashCopyTable.ciscoFlashCopyEntry.ciscoFlashCopyDestinationName.666 : DISPLAY STRING- (ascii): flash:/test_file.txt

cisco.ciscoMgmt.ciscoFlashMIB.ciscoFlashMIBObjects.ciscoFlashOps.ciscoFlashCopyTable.ciscoFlashCopyEntry.ciscoFlashCopyEntryStatus.666 : INTEGER: createAndGo

When I set FlashCopyEntryStatus.666 to 4:createAndGo , it reports "Received badValue(3) error-status at error-index 1 ". If I set FlashCopyEntryStatus.666 to 6:destroy,then it works normal. So I am sure the command is correct. However,6:destroy can't do move file.

So,what's wrong with CISCO-FLASH-MIB and FlashCopyEntryStatus ?

why I can't set the value to 4 ?

thanks!

Try setting the row to CreateAndWait and then Active

You can only use CreateAndGo if you are setting all the objects in one PDU (one snmpset command).

nhabib,

thanks for your reply.

Can u tell me where to find the information about "You can only use CreateAndGo if you are setting all the objects in one PDU " ?

In the MIB,I can't find information about that.

Tomorrow I will try to do that.

thanks very much.

CISCO-FLASH-MIB::ciscoFlashCopyEntryStatus.666 = INTEGER: createAndWait(5)

Re: How to move file from tftp to router ?

thanks!

I got it to work after I do it following your sample.

I failed because I didn't set createAndWait first.I set other parameters like protocol etc before I set createAndWait. So it reports error.

Can u tell me why I need set createAndWait first ? I am not familar with basic snmp concepts .

Can u tell me where and how to learn this ?

thanks very much!

This might help:

http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/535/3.html

Also, there is a good Cisco Press book called "Peformance and Fault Management" by Paul L Della Maggiora, et al
