Install IPM under non-root UID 0

I ran into the following problem installing IPM 2.5 under a non-root account with UID 0. CS, RME, and CM all installed fine under this account. Is there any other recourse than installing under real root?

We only test with installations as real root. Sudo and other such installations should work, but are not tested, and not supported. In this case, IPM is actually doing testing of the username (using /usr/ucb/whoami). So you will need to be proper "root".
