Integrate 3rd Party products into Cisco Works LMS

Is it possible to integrate 3rd party products like HP Procurve Switches into Cisco Works LMS 2.5.

If yes, what kind of management is possible with this integrated products?

I suppose it is depending on the MIB.

What is your experience about what is possible with LMS in a multivendor environment?

Thanx in advance for any idea

They would simply be generic SNMP devices. No config management, no syslog, not much really.

Re: Integrate 3rd Party products into Cisco Works LMS

LMS is a management solution only for Cisco devices.

It is not like RealTech NodeManager, HP Network NodeManager or IBM Tivoli an open mangement system for other vendor devices.

As HP devices have CDP enabled (I am not sure if it is true for all HP devices) someone told me you can see these devices on the map (this was for LMS 2.2) but that´s all.

In LMS 2.5 you have the possibility to add a link to other tools (e.g. other Management Solutions or graphical device managers). That is what Cisco calls integration of 3rd party tools.

But therefor you have Cisco specific config management and fault management (DFM) in LMS 2.5

So in a mulitvendor environment you can use LMS to manage Cisco devices nothing else and not more...
