Is there a Cisco Discovery Protocol install for Regular Servers ?

Hello Guys,

Does anyone know of a CDP Protocol Driver ( like Cisco has for IPT Servers) that can be installed on regular servers ? I've have run across the CDP Monitor program by Tallsoft ,but would rather not install a full program on every server for it to generate CDP traffic.

I know of no small daemons for Windows, but I use a cdpd on my FreeBSD servers (will also work on other UNIX OSes). You can get it from ftp://ftp.lexa.ru/pub/domestic/snar/ .

http://www.tallsoft.com/cdpciscoclient.htm

seems to be a commercial product to do this.

download at http://www.tallsoft.com/cdpclient_setup.zip

Alternatively, if you're handy with a compiler, there are a few things floating around e.g. on sourceforge that might get you an exe out of visual studio if you bang it with a big enough stick.

good luck!
