JRM Service could be down. Check whether JRM services are running

I keep seeing this message when ever I open RME

LMS 2.6 on A Windows 2003 platform

3.0.5 common services

4.0.6 campus manager

6.1.5 Ciscoview

2.0.6 DFM

2.6.0 IPM

4.0.5 RME

pdshow against CTMJrmServer - waiting to initialize, then it will become administratively shutdown

JRM and the other dependencies are up and working

Under CTMJrmServer.log - I keep seeing what looks like authentication errors

Error in execPOST: Server returned HTTP response code: 403 for URL: http://localhost:1741/CSCOnm/servlet/com.cisco.nm.cmf.servlet.SecretManagerServlet?command=put&alias=admin&secret=R2Dc7YpBXJLzlQ%3D%3D

Any help with this would be very much appreciated

Re: JRM Service could be down. Check whether JRM services are ru

Are you using Cisco Secure ACS for authentication and authorization?

If so, check the system identity user and its authorizations in ACS. We had the same problem with LMS 3.1 and there was 1 missing authorization for the system identity user that was causing this error.

Thanks for the prompt response Marcel

I am not using Cisco Secure ACS

Post your NMSROOT/lib/classpath/md.properties file, output of the command "pdreg -l CTMJrmServer", and the output of the "hostname" command.

This all checks.  Post screenshots of your Services control panel showing all of the CiscoWorks services.

Re: JRM Service could be down. Check whether JRM services are ru

This looks okay, too.  It might be quicker if you open a TAC service request so remote access can be used to analyze the problem in real time.  However, if you want to continue to work on this on the forum, I'd like to see the NMSROOT/MDC/tomcat/logs/stdout.log.

Re: JRM Service could be down. Check whether JRM services are ru

Unfortunately there is no external real time access.

Post the NMSROOT/MDC/Apache/logs/error.log.

Re: JRM Service could be down. Check whether JRM services are ru

It looks like your LMS installation is corrupt.  The Tomcat configuration appears to be missing.  Post all of the files under NMSROOT/MDC/tomcat/conf.

Re: JRM Service could be down. Check whether JRM services are ru

Post the files under the jk subdirectory as well as all of the files under NMSROOT/MDC/Apache/conf (do not recurse).

Re: JRM Service could be down. Check whether JRM services are ru

I'm not seeing the problem.  Do you have a service running on this server that would start other services automatically (i.e. some kind of watch

dog)?  The problem has all of the symptoms of s services issue.
