License Installation Error - Cisco 3560E

Currently, I am attempting to upgrade a 3560E running C3560E-UNIVERSALK9-M, Version 12.2(44)SE2 from the IPBASE to the IPPLUS feature set. I have received the .lic file from cisco. I have tried copying the .lic file locally onto the flash as well as using tftp. Both are able to load the .lic file, but I get the following error:

% License installation failed with error: XML parsing failed

I have tried searching for this error, but with no luck. Thanks in advance.

The error that you are getting could be due to any of the following reasons:

--bad license file (corrupted).

--incorrect method of installation

--incorrect UDI being used

Apparently PID is not set correctly. Regenerate the license with the correct PID.
