Is there a command(s) that can quickly show me a list of ports and which ones are in error-disable mode? I have not come across a way to do this.

show interface status err-disabled
or
show interface status | include err-disabled

You should be able to use:
show interfaces status err-disabled
to view the ports with status error disabled.
See this doc for details on error disabled ports:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/tech/tk389/tk621/technologies_tech_note09186a00806cd87b.shtml
if a port changes its status to err-diabled it records a syslog message; so you can use a syslog collector to get these messages and further process them if the collector supports this (email, etc)

If I had no error-disabled ports I should not get a response from the switch correct?
I get a blank command line from the switch when I tried the command.

'no response is a good response'
if you enter the command and you are not getting a listing then there is nothing to list..e.g there are no ports in error disabled state;
do a
show interface status
to see a list of all ports with their status
