Re: LMS 2.5

So many good ssh clients out there.

Some of the best even for free, like "Putty"

Re: LMS 2.5

Any idea that the ssh client can be integrated into ciscoworks?

Now all my swicthes are ssh enabled, i cannot use the software management to pull or put the image into or from the switches because it is using telnet to do that.

Any good idea?

Re: LMS 2.5

Ciscoworks can talk ssh to the devices by default, just like it can talk telnet to the devices even if no telnet client is installed on the server.

However if you wish to use telnet or ssh from a client machine, you will have to install a telnet/ssh client on every machine from which you wish to do this

The ciscoworks webgui will just launch the default telnet/ssh application on the client machine.

Re: LMS 2.5

Hi Miheq,

My question is if all my switches set to ssh login, how to use software management to do image distribution? Because software management only use telnet to login to switches and grab the image.

Thank you.

Re: LMS 2.5

We had a similar situation. The solution was to define a single vty for telnet with an acl that limited that vty to only the CiscoWorks IP address.
