LMS 2.6 Baseline Templates

Hi,

Im using baseline templates to funnily enough baseline the templates for network devices in my network. What makes this tiresome is the device specific information such as hostname/snmp-server community strings/tacacs key/local passwords. Is there a way within baseline templates that you can use variables (it checks whats in the dcr for example) against whats in the config ?

Failing that, whats the best way to ensure a standard template is applied to all devices taking into consideration different hostnames/SNMP strings etc ?

Thanks

Nick

Basically, anything you find inside [] are said to be parameters that can be filled in at the time of deployment. If deploying through the GUI, you will have a chance to fill in this data for your devices. For example, say you have the following in your template:

+ hostname [hostname]

+ snmp-server community [community] RO

+ tacacs-server key [tacacs_key]

Then in the deployment window, you will have a chance to fill in these values. See the online help at http://server/help/rme/fundamentals/config_DeplyBaslinTempUI.html

for more information on deploying baselines.
