LMS 2.6 Cisco View 6.1.5: Browser Client need DNS resolution !?

Hi folks!

I'm going to view a device with the CiscoView application, by windows client (with a IE 6 browser), which not reach the DNS, where the device is loaded.

CiscoView gives me a DNS error!!

The devices, in the DCR, doesn't have the IP address (becasue they are resolved by DNS), but if I insert the IP address, cisco view run correctly.

The client, have to be in the same network of the DNS?

I have to configure the IE6 browser?

Any helps would be appreciate.

thanks a lot!

Leonardo

Re: LMS 2.6 Cisco View 6.1.5: Browser Client need DNS resolution

This is a bug, CSCsg55089. It is fixed in LMS 3.0, but there was not been an official patch released for LMS 2.6. The workaround is to configure an IP address in DCR, or make sure the hostname alone is resolvable (i.e. the hostname WITHOUT the domain name MUST be resolvable).
