LMS 2.6: Long-running ChangeAuditDefaultPurge job

I've been trying to find out why my LMS 2.6 backups are getting bigger by several hundred MBs a day again. I've known /var/adm/CSCOpx/files/rme/dcma/difffiles/ is the one doing the growing, but I finally find this is because the daily ChangeAuditDefaultPurge job kicked off at Feb. 25 at 2am has not finished running even to this moment. Is there any remedy to this situation? Is it safe to stop the job? /var/adm/CSCOpx/files/rme/jobs/cas/1393.log shows the Change Audit purge has not been running daily, as scheduled:

I tried to stop the job (#1393) via the web GUI but got the response it "could not be stopped".

This sounds like CSCsm03001. I have a patch available you can get by calling the TAC. To stop this job, you will need to restart dmgtd.

The difffiles are not purged automatically. You can manually delete them, however, as they are not referenced by anything. They will be recreated as needed.

The patch works, but my dcma/difffiles directory is still adding hundreds of MBs a day. Take today's Change Audit purge for example (30-day retention for both change audit and audit trail records):

Job ID: 1393 Status: Succeeded

Job Summary

Change Audit Purge: Succeeded

Purge Change Audit Records older than : Feb 17 2008

Job Type: Change Audit Default Purge

Audit Trail Purge: Succeeded

Number of Audit Trail Records purged: 88

Purge Audit Trail Records older than : Feb 17 2008

Purge ended at : 2008-03-18 01:00:51

Purge started at : 2008-03-18 01:00:04

Number of Change Audit Records purged: 5127

Yet, I'm still finding diff files from as old as Dec 7, 2007.

/var/adm/CSCOpx/files/rme/dcma/difffiles/379/PRIMARY/RUNNING)->ls -al
