LMS 2.6 Redundancy

Hi All,

I would like to know how configure 2 LMS management server to fail-over from a LIVE enviornment to a DR environment.

is there any best practice procedure?

Moreover, I was wondering if it is possible to configured LMS in order to use one IP-address to receive traps and one IP-address to run LMS 2.6. Since I can send trap just to one ip-address and I cannot add any trap destinations to the managed devices configuration.

The idea is to ridirect the traps forwarded to the DR environment turning on the IP address (the unique traps destination) when the Live environment fail.

Is something reasonable?

Many thanks in advance for your help!

You can setup LMS in a master/slave scenario to share the devices in the DCR, but there is not true failover available.

You must configure the devices to send to whatever server is needed and one LMS server will not take over if another is down. If you want this kind of redundancy about the best you could do is duplicate the apps on one server to another with the same devices and configuration.

Hi Davistan,

Thanks for your reply.

I have just read the "Common Services user guide" which explain how to set up master-slave configuration (DCR).

Thanks
