LMS 3.2 - 12hrs for a failed Sync Archive

I performed a Sync Archive on a device and noticed that it took 12 hrs to end with a result of 'Failed'.  What logs or troubleshooting steps should I look at to find out the possible cause for this long delay? I don't believe I ever had to wait 12 hours for a Sync Archive completion. I'm running LMS 3.2 / RME 4.0.
