LMS: Can I use variables

Hi,

Is there a way to use variables in IOS? For instance, I want to tftp the same file from several switches to my LMS server and I would like the destination filename to be the same as the switch hostname. So, is there a way to reference the variable containing the hostname?

For example, I want to create a user-defined task as follows:

copy flash: tftp

source filename: fileX

address or name of remote host: x.x.x.x

destination filename[fileX]: <insert the hostname variable>

I would send this task to several switches at once and hope to receive a file from each switch named the same as the switch's hostname.

not sure whether you can use variables as mentioned, but you can use the ip host command to define a static host name-to-address mapping in the host cache.
