LMS device discovery of standby (hsrp) address

We have two devices (4500) that are part of the same HSRP group. See below for their admin VLAN settings:

(see attachment for config)

Within Common Services we've defined both devices using their primary @IP (.251 and .252) and everything works fine, except for the fact that Campus Manager's Device Discovery finds not only .252 with its primary @IP but also with its HSRP @IP (see below):

...

32. 10.171.9.254 UnReachable

33. C4507-IOS .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.501 10.171.9.252 Reachable

34. C4506-IOS .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.502 10.171.9.251 Reachable

...

We'd like to stop Device Discovery from discovering that unnecessary @IP. I know that we can exclude IP addresses from discovery but this field is already defined to include IP addresses.

(You can only exclude or include IP addresses

or ranges; you cannot do both.)

Any suggestions ?

Thx

Re: LMS device discovery of standby (hsrp) address

While it wouldn't prevent Campus from discovering the interface, you could add a DCR exclude filter which would prevent the device from being added to DCR. That is done under Common Services > Device and Credentials > Exclude.

Re: LMS device discovery of standby (hsrp) address

Hi,

I have the same situation with HSRP groups and the virtual IP-address.

It will be discovered but will not be added in DCR on my LMS.

I was wondering about the address but rather it doesn't care I think.
