LMS /tmp drive space Solaris appliance

Hello

I have a small question to which I could find no answer on documentation. My /tmp partition is running out of space - 96% of 9Gb is used as you can see on the attachment bellow.

Which of these files would be safe to delete? Or should I increase /tmp space?

Best regards

Isaac

Hello Afroj

Thanks for your reply. I have deletede the files you suggested and evruthing is running fine. Thanks for your help

Do you have any docs that describe the usage of these and of the other files ont the /tmp directory? I have searched on cisco.com but couldnt find anything relevant.

Best regards

Hi Isaac,

Ideally deleting the Tmp files should not create any issues. As such there is no doc exist specifically for this information as per my knowledge.

Afroz,

I came across a customer server running low on tmp space and found almost 2000 of those core-web_server files. I'd not seen that on other installations. Do you know if there is there a bug or misconfguration that will cause them to proliferate so much?

Thanks.

Hi Marvin,

The system dump the  "memory thread" to these core files when a process crashes.

like  web_server process crashes  or sm_server

It is quite safe to delete these files to free space on the server .

Have a nice day ahead

Thanks-
Afroz
