LMS3.2 - Campus Manager - User Tracking

Hi there

Campus Manager User tracking (5.2.0) is not updating the records in the UT database after applying workaround for bug CSCta08882 to 6500 VSS. The 6500 is the only device not updating all other devices are working. I'm using SNMPv3.

Any help would be appriciated.

Cheers

Tim

This switch has no access ports. Your view does appear to be interfering with Data Collection. You also didn't use the correct view. Remove the v1default view customizations, then port an SNMP Walk of the entPhysicalTable.

You haven't applied the view to read operations. Try this:

snmp-server group SNMPAuth v3 auth read ModifiedView write v1default access 2

Exactly what is the config you added to the 6500? It would be helpful to see the show run from this device along with the NMSROOT/campus/etc/cwsi/portData.xml file.

Thanks for your responce.

I have attached the SNMP Config for the affected device this includes the config that I added for the work around, I have also attached "portsdata.xml" as requested.

Thanks, I have removed the v1default view and everything is now working fine, thanks for your help.

Sorry, I spoke too soon, I'm now getting the false alerts assosiated with bug CSCta08882 again, UT is working now though!

I'm sure this is just an issue with my config but i'm getting very confused with how the SNMP views work. Please could you take a look at the SNMP config and point out where i'm going wrong......

Your view is most likely incomplete. I need to see the details of the false DFM event along with a walk of the entPhysicalTable to see exactly what view you need.

Thanks for your response, please find the attached files you need.

I only needed to see an SNMP Walk starting from entPhysicalTable. This walk doesn't even include that table.

Sorry about that, please find the new SNMP Walk attached.

It may actually be easier to include the entPhysicalTable, and simply exclude the following OIDs:

entPhysicalEntry.*.4054

entPhysicalEntry.*.40

entPhysicalEntry.*.1013

entPhysicalEntry.*.4038

entPhysicalEntry.*.7001

entPhysicalEntry.*.8007

entPhysicalEntry.*.6001

entPhysicalEntry.*.56

entPhysicalEntry.*.4042

entPhysicalEntry.*.1018

entPhysicalEntry.*.5018

entPhysicalEntry.*.1001

entPhysicalEntry.*.3009

entPhysicalEntry.*.7007

entPhysicalEntry.*.8001

entPhysicalEntry.*.44

entPhysicalEntry.*.4046

entPhysicalEntry.*.2009

entPhysicalEntry.*.6009

entPhysicalEntry.*.5001

entPhysicalEntry.*.9001

entPhysicalEntry.*.3001

entPhysicalEntry.*.5013

entPhysicalEntry.*.1014

entPhysicalEntry.*.52

entPhysicalEntry.*.2001

entPhysicalEntry.*.5014

entPhysicalEntry.*.48

entPhysicalEntry.*.4050

entPhysicalEntry.*.9009

Unfortunalty i'm still not having any success with this, the SNMP view doesn't seem to be working correclty. I still get traps for the False Alerts. I have even tried excluding all of "entPhysicalTable" to test and still get the alerts!

Any other ideas would be gratefully received?

After the view is in place, you need to delete the device from DFM, then re-add it.

I tried this, still not working. I must be doing something wrong.. I'm just not sure what.

Post your current config. Have the false events changed any?
