[MTA continously releasing DHCP offer]

hi,

i'm installing a packetcable environment. when an MTA tries to follow up on the provisioning process, it always ends up sending a release for the offer:

02/22/2006 16:41:10 name/dhcp/1 Activity Server 0 04619 Server received a DHCPRELEASE packet 'R3114' from: CID: 01:00:13:10:bb:49:82 via: Interface y.y.y.y, 2 in use.

02/22/2006 16:41:10 name/dhcp/1 Activity Protocol 0 05001 x.x.x.x Released by Host: '8147775352' CID: 01:00:13:10:bb:49:82 packet 'R3114'

what are the posible reasons for the MTA continously releasing what dhcp sends it?

regards,

c.

Re: [MTA continously releasing DHCP offer]

check out the following link for the sequence of events for MTA initialization from Table 6 :

hope this helps.
