I have a cisco 7200 on one side of a multilink connection with multiple atm interfaces. On the other side....I have a non Cisco device.
When I initiate an extended ping and specify the packet size for greater than 1523 Cisco fails and I get ......
When I do the exact same thing on the other side of the circuit(on an Adtran) I can successfully ping across the circuit.
And if I go back to the Cisco and choose any smaller size packet it pings successfully.
