Please please can anyone recommend a downloadable network Monitoring too that I can use the measure the bandwidth usage of our serial lines.
I want to be able to install this on a laptop or PC, attach it t the Ethernet interface of a router and then measure the serial Link bandwidth usage.
Thanks

I suggest you the STG (SNMP Traffic Grapher) software.
It's free and so simple, you can download from below link :

I suggest you another software which called GETIF, it's free and has many features (with the ability to graph OID values over time, display the device's interface information, routing and ARP tables, as well as do basic port scans, Traceroutes, NSLookups, MIB Browser and IP Scans)
Also you can download many MIB files (about 650) from following sites and import them to it.

Thank you very much.
I have now installed the software and connected to my router. But it comes up with "no MIB2 compatible ports were fond on this device"
How do I rectify this?
Thanks

You may also want to look into MRTG: http://www.mrtg.org

you will find all the mibs available at this link
http://tools.cisco.com/Support/SNMP/do/BrowseOID.do?local=en&translate=Translate&objectInput=1
I gone more granular into the file structure and this is where the mibII object folders and leafs are.
all the best
