NMS Upgrade Paths.

Hi All,

I have a Plan to implement 2 Network Management Solutions.

1st Solution Qurey:

Cisco WAN Manager (CWM) on a solaris machine running CWM 9.2

I have ordered for a CWM-15.0.00JU=CWM Server Major Upgrade to R15.0.00

This is case of the following note on Cisco Site.

# Cisco WAN Manager 9.x customers who do not use the Cisco Service

Agent need only purchase the Cisco WAN Manager Server Major Upgrade.

I would be installin this on a New Solaris 9.0 Machine,

Question is:

For the product that I have bought, will I have to first install 9.2 and

then upgrade it to 11.0 and then to 15.0 Cause cisco site says the following

*CWM Release 15 can be upgraded from the following releases. Upgrading implies that the existing databases can be converted and used in the upgraded version.

? CWM Release 11.0.10 (latest patch) both Solaris 7 and Solaris 8 versions.

? CWM Release 12.0.10 (latest patch).

To upgrade to CWM Release 15, users of earlier CWM releases must first upgrade to one of the releases

listed above.

OR

Is it a direct install product, as its a fresh installation on a new server

and same Solaris platform. ??

2nd Solution Query:

I have solaris again running Cisco Works 2000 ( LMS 2.2 ) I have bought a product CWLMS-2.5-RUP-K9 = Upgrade for CiscoWorks

LMS 2.5 Enterprise customers wanting to convert to LMS 2.5 Large Enterprise for Windows and Solaris with unrestricted

device-usage license and one server-installation license

But this I want to install on a Windows Server 2003.

Will I have to again install Cisco Works 2000 first on Windows Server 2003 and

then upgrade it to LMS 2.5

OR

Is it again a direct install on to Windows 2003 server as its again a fresh

install on a new server and new windows platform. ??

Thanks in advance for your inputs.

Rgds.

For the LMS 2.5 portion I would go ahead and install clean on the Windows 2003 server. Once installed go ahead and upgrade the service packs to the latest (LMS 2.6 has been released on CCO)
