Not all endhosts are discovered in Usertracking

How is it possible that not all endhosts are discovered by using usertracking. A lot off pingeable endhosts are not found in the usertracking list. We are using the data from usertracking to fill the cmdb database. Now it appears that the information is incomplete. Who has a suggestion?

There are several reasons that could cause this.

One is that the device to which the host is connected is managed by ciscoworks. and for the mac address IP address resolution also the host 's default gateway needs to be managed by ciscoworks.

Do you meet these to requirements?

There are a few things you need to look at to determine if the devices should be there and if so, why they are missing:

1) Are the end devices showing up in the ARP table via a show command?

2) Are they showing up when you walk the BRIDGE-MIB?

3) Is the device they are connected to a supported device and it is discovered by topology services?

4) If they are in BOTH of the above, you can turn on debugs for UT (vmpsadmin) and see what UT is seeing for that device
