Anyone know of a command or method of shutting down a router without having to be physically near it(flick the power switch). I telnet to the router from accross the internet, it's just a router I use for testing, but sometimes I don't need it and to save energy would like to switch it off.

Hi David
AFAIK you wont be able to switch off the router using CLI as we normally do in our servers..
You need to physically be there to switch off the system..

If you're willing to spring for a RS232 and/or Ethernet-enabled power controller, that's one way to let you manage the power remotely. Some of those even have a web browser interface.
